Popular Nikkei restaurant TokyoLima is bringing attention to its cocktail prowess with a new menu sampling both sides of Japan and Peru.

Six new cocktails and three mocktails join the pack at the Central restaurant, currently under a transformation to beef up its bar offerings in order to compete in the area.

Each drink is inspired by Japanese and Peruvian figures, such as gods and goddesses, kings, and samurai.

Kanazawa, The Samurai Capital (HKD128) takes on tea-drinking traditions with pours of kagabo cha sake, sweet potato rum, pumpkin shrub, and organic honey to pay respect to samurai culture.

Titicaca, The Magic Lake (HKD128) is a drink embodying Peru’s beloved Lake Titicaca with strawberry and mango pisco, chilli cordial, guava foam, fresh lemon juice, and eucalyptus essence.

Priced fairly, a key mocktail on the menu is Purple Sea, New Beginnings (HKD78) with roasted chicha morada soda, lavender syrup, aji amarillo, macerated blueberry, pasteurised egg white, and soda water. The drink represents the first wave of Japanese migration to Peru.
