Hong Kong earned high acclaim last night (Jun. 19) at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 awards ceremony hosted in Turin, Italy, with two of the city’s fine-dining restaurants climbing the ranks.

WING climbed nine spots from the 2024 list to be named the 11th-best restaurant in the world, with local favourite The Chairman earning a 19th-place finish, climbing five spots from last year’s 24th ranking.

Chef Vicky Cheng of WING also earned the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award, with William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, commenting, “At WING, hospitality isn’t an afterthought – it’s foundational. The experience there goes far beyond the plate. It’s a complete immersion in modern Chinese identity and creativity, delivered with care and conviction.”

Celebrating his win today, Vicky shared, “Achieving the ranking of No. 11 alongside The Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award is a tremendous honour. These recognitions celebrate the essence of WING—our passion for connecting with guests through exceptional food and genuine care. This accomplishment is a tribute to our dedicated team and the loyal community that inspires us every day.”

This year’s awards ceremony saw restaurants from 22 countries across five continents earning a place in the top 50 rankings, with 10 new restaurants joining the list.

For lovers of the world’s fanciest gastronomical lists, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the new rankings at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 ceremony held in Macau in July and The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 ceremony coming to Hong Kong in October.
